What Runs Through Our Lab
- Complete blood counts and chemistry panels — a look at organ function, hydration, and blood cell health in one draw
- Urinalysis — checked for concentration, infection, crystals, and other markers that point toward kidney or bladder issues
- Fecal analysis — screening for intestinal parasites, run routinely for puppies, kittens, and adult pets alike
- Pre-surgical bloodwork — a baseline check before anesthesia, to catch anything that would change how we approach a procedure
- Heartworm and tick-borne disease screening — a quick in-house test rather than a send-out
- Cytology — looking at cells from a lump, ear swab, or skin sample under a microscope to help figure out what’s going on
Anything beyond our in-house capability — more specialized panels, biopsies needing a pathologist’s read, or advanced testing — gets sent to an outside reference lab, and we’ll let you know upfront if that’s the case and roughly how long to expect results.
Why an On-Site Lab Actually Matters
Same-day results change what happens next. If bloodwork before a dental cleaning shows something unexpected, we can adjust the plan before your pet is ever put under anesthesia, instead of finding out afterward. If you’re managing a pet with diabetes or thyroid disease, being able to check and adjust the same day — rather than waiting on a mailed-in sample — makes ongoing management noticeably less stressful for everyone involved, pet included.
